It's no secret we are fans of sake so we're excited that "Astor Tuesdays" - the weekly 15% off sale at Astor Liquors (399 Lafayette Street) - this week is devoted to sake and shochu. Astor's selection is the largest in the city with over 100 sake selections alone. This sale comes along very rarely so we recommend you stock up. As always, the sale is valid today only.

We guess it had to come to this - rainy day discounts at wine shops. Pasanella and Son Vintners (115 South Street, website) is offering 10% off purchases if it rains - plus they promise to have bottles open for tastings - with the discount bumped up to 15% if you spend $100 or more.

Our go-to Scotch, Lagavulin 16, has been reduced at Warehouse Wines & Spirits.Believe it or not, this terrific Scotch is only $49.95 right now. That's less than a lot of inferior Scotches they sell and may be the cheapest price you'll find on Lagavulin anywhere in the U.S.
